WHY SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL?

By integrating sustainability practices into our operations, Safari Revive is fully dedicated to preserving natural resources, protecting wildlife and ecosystems, supporting local communities, and providing travelers with meaningful, responsible, and sustainable safari experiences.

How are we sustainable?

As a safari company, there are several ways to be sustainable and contribute to environmental, social, and economic well-being. Here are some ways we practice sustainability:

Conservation Initiatives:

At Safari Revive, we are deeply committed to safeguarding the natural world. We actively implement and support conservation programs that protect the wildlife, ecosystems, and natural resources in the regions where our safaris take place. This includes fostering partnerships with local conservation organizations, conducting wildlife monitoring, and participating in habitat restoration efforts.

Responsible Tourism Practices:

We are dedicated to promoting responsible tourism by minimizing the environmental impact of our safari activities. This commitment entails adhering to eco-friendly guidelines, utilizing low-impact accommodations, and organizing small group tours to reduce our overall footprint.

Community Engagement:

Safari Revive places great emphasis on engaging with and supporting local communities. We offer fair employment opportunities, source goods and services locally, and invest in community development projects. This ensures that the benefits of tourism are shared with the people residing in the areas where our safaris are conducted.

Educational Programs:

We believe in the power of education. To this end, we develop and offer educational programs for both travelers and local communities. These programs raise awareness about the significance of conservation, sustainability, and cultural preservation.

Carbon Offsetting:

Safari Revive actively works to offset the carbon footprint of our safari operations. We achieve this by investing in renewable energy projects, supporting reforestation efforts, and participating in carbon offset programs.

Ethical Wildlife Interactions:

We strictly adhere to guidelines for ethical wildlife interactions. Our commitment is to provide responsible and respectful wildlife viewing experiences while avoiding activities that could harm or disturb animals.

Waste Reduction and Recycling:

We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact. In our safari camps and lodges, we implement waste reduction and recycling programs to encourage responsible waste management.

Supporting Local Businesses:

At Safari Revive, we collaborate with local suppliers and businesses. This strengthens the local economy and creates a positive impact on the communities in which we operate.

Continuous Improvement:

We recognize the importance of continuous improvement. Safari Revive regularly assesses and enhances our sustainability practices by monitoring and measuring our environmental and social performance.

Transparency and Accountability:

We believe in open and transparent communication. We share information about our sustainability efforts and progress with our customers, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring accountability in all our endeavors.

 SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES ON TOUR

At Safari Revive, our passion is nature, wildlife, and culture. We wholeheartedly urge all travelers to adopt sustainable practices during their safaris, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come. Here are some valuable tips on how you can actively participate in sustainable practices while enjoying your safari adventure:

Respect the natural habitat and space of animals

It’s always advisable while on any game drive to make sure you stay at a safe distance from the animals so you can witness their natural behavior and make sure not to pressure the driver to drive beyond the designated paths to avoid depletion of the environment and paying fines.

Get a refillable bottle

Kenya Wildlife Service has recently banned the use of single-use plastics in all protected areas and we find this commendable. To avoid environmental degradation, invest in a refillable bottle because for every refill, you save nature.

Bring your biodegradable products

We encourage every traveler to do some research before traveling on biodegradable products. You can still make your selection based on your favorite brands. All these products end up on soil hence the use of biodegradable is a save for nature.

Purchase locally made souvenirs

This is highly valuable since it’s a way to promote the locals. Every purchase you make positively contributes to the livelihood of the individual you bought from and helps eradicate poverty. In this way, you help the community grow.

Abide by the park rules

For the safety of you, the wildlife, nature, and the neighboring community it’s important to abide by the park rules.

Carry only a few necessary electronics

To save on energy used, you can only carry the essentials e.g. your phone, tablet, laptop, camera, and chargers.

Avoid the purchase of shells and other marine/animal products and souvenirs

This encourages further depletion of the reefs and beaches.

Respect and preserve culture

Traveling offers an amazing opportunity to learn about and celebrate other cultures. Travelers play an important role in preserving these cultures through buying souvenirs, engaging in local activities, etc. Therefore, it’s important to respect and learn the most about cultural norms involving dress code, language, food, music, and general behavior.
